    Enel X will provide Bogota with 401 electric buses and two new electroterminals

    Enel X was awarded by Bogota’s bus rapid transit system Transmilenioa contract to provide the Colombian capital’s Integrated Public Transport System with 401 full-electric buses and two brand new electroterminals for their charging.

    This award, which follows the contract signed at the end of 2019 with SITP for the construction of four electro-terminals that is currently ongoing, will bring to around 900 the number of e-buses served by Enel X in Bogota.

    Bogota is the second Latin American mega city – after Santiago de Chile – to benefit from a zero-emissions public transport initiative promoted by Enel X.

    This award brings the number of e-buses managed by Enel X globally to almost 1,400.

    The electric buses, which will be manufactured by the Chinese automakers BYD and are expected to be delivered to Bogota between the end of 2021 and early 2022.

    It will be charged with clean energy, coming from 100% renewable sources at the electroterminals built by Enel X.

    The buses will be equipped with security cameras, wi-fi and USB recharging hubs in order to provide a comfortable, sustainable and high quality service to all passengers.

    The two electroterminals, which are expected to be operational between November 2021 and April 2022, will be built in two different areas of Bogota (Usme and Fontibon) and will include approximately 200 e-bus chargers.

    Enel X further expands its electric vehicle charging network to more than 90,000 public charging points available to users of its JuicePass app.

    At the beginning of 2020 the network had around 10,000 charging points.

    Enel X has more than 12,500 charging points installed throughout Europe while the accessible network has been further enabled through interoperability via Hubject’s e-mobility platform.

    Interoperability allows Enel X JuicePass app users to charge their EVs throughout Europe with a single sign-on, without entering into new contracts with different providers.

    This network that now includes more than 90,000 public charging points, including alternating current (AC) charging up to 43kW, direct current (DC) fast charging up to 50kW, and High Power Charging (above 100kW) technologies.

    Enel X has entered Singapore’s demand response market. Enel X’s virtual power plant will support the National Electricity Market of Singapore (NEMS), with the aim to improve overall system security and efficiency.

    Enel X in Singapore will work with global and local commercial as well as industrial businesses in order to provide demand response services to the grid.

    Virtual power plant participation in Singapore is increasingly important as demand for energy grows, particularly with the emergence and development of electricity-intensive sectors, such as data centers.

    In addition to industrial gas producers and data centers, industries well suited to participate include technology companies, cold storage units, food processing and manufacturing facilities, water utilities as well as commercial buildings.

    Enel X launched its first commercial office in China, by opening in the country an office dedicated to e-Mobility.

    Located in Shanghai, Enel X China will deploy its charging infrastructure equipment, systems, and platforms for new energy vehicles, including plug-in hybrids and fully-electric vehicles, leveraging on the country’s fast-paced development of clean transportation.

    Enel X China will work in collaboration with automakers, commercial, industrial and residential customers, electric utilities, as well as energy markets.

    The company will provide electric vehicle charging infrastructure for the electric mobility of the future, including a complete line of smart electric vehicle charging stations and custom solutions for private households, businesses, and municipalities.

    The local office is engaging with several Chinese and global automakers, vehicle fleets, and commercial real-estate operators to introduce charging solutions using JuiceBox technology.

    Enel X launched its own online banking account and payment app

    Enel X makes its debut in the digital financial services and mobile banking sector with Enel X Pay, the online banking account from Enel X Financial Services.

    The partnership with Mastercard enables users to make fully secure payments and transfers in real time directly via smartphone app.

    They can have a digital or physical card and monitor the transactions and spending of the whole family.

    Enel X Pay is a native digital account, involving a card and an Italian IBAN, which allows users to perform multiple types of transactions: from the payment of bills, taxes and duties of the Public Administrations signed up to Italy’s pagoPA circuit, to SEPA transfers, from the peer-to-peer transfer of money with no additional costs, to donations aimed at solidarity initiatives to third sector associations like Save the Children, Food for Soul and Doctors without Borders.

    Users can manage the Enel X Pay banking account directly from the app bundled with a digital and physical card.

    The card is made out of plant-based bio-plastic and is linked to Mastercard, the key international payment circuit with over 52 million points of acceptance around the world.

    Enel X at 50.000 charging points available throughout Europe

    Enel X expands its electric vehicle (EV) charging network to more than 50.000 public charging points.

    This significant increase from about 30.000 already available in early June was made by kicking off eRoaming connectivity with North European EV charging point operator Last Mile Solutions as well as has·to·be and E.ON.

    Under the framework of the Hubject e-mobility platform, this progress now allows Enel X JuicePass app users to charge their EVs, without signing new contracts, in the charging points operated by Last Mile Solutions, has·to·be and E.ON, on a network of around 20.000 additional charging points in Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands.

    JuicePass customers will now be able to use the app and cross the borders with one single interface from the Nordics through Germany, Austria and Switzerland on their trip to Italy.

    Enel X is expected to increase its network of public and private charging points made available worldwide to approximately 736.000 by 2022 from around 130.000 available today.

    What is Hubject?

    The Hubject e-mobility joint venture was founded in 2012.

    Headquartered in Berlin, its shareholders are, alongside Enel X: BMW Group, Bosch, EnBW, Mercedes Benz AG, Innogy, Siemens and the Volkswagen Group.

    Enel X and ALD Automotive develop JuiceMotion, a solution for e-mobility

    JuiceMotion, an innovative solution for the spread of electric mobility in Italy has been launched, after a partnership between ALD Automotive and Enel X.

    Customers who choose to rent a fully electric or Hybrid plug-in vehicle will have access to Enel X’s advanced charging services.

    Now with JuiceMotion, ALD Automotive and Enel X offer a new product, aimed at both private customers and corporate mobility, which will make the long-term rental of an electric car more convenient through an all-inclusive “worry-free” fee and a diluted payment over the years of the rental.

    A solution that offers, a card with 1,350 kWh included for use at Enel X charging points and the supply of the JuiceBox domestic charging infrastructure.

    Enel X customers will be able to rent Bird electric scooters in Italy

    Enel X and Bird have consolidated their cooperation by adding to Enel X’s JuicePass app a section dedicated to the rental service of over 5,000 Bird electric scooters in different Italian cities, such as Turin, Rome, Milan, Verona, Rimini, and Pesaro.

    The aim of this cooperation is to offer customers the option of a fully integrated mobility experience.

    Enel X JuicePass users will be redirected to the Bird app to book and use the scooters once the nearest ones have been identified on the map.

    EV drivers will now be able to park and refuel at the charging points accessible through JuicePass, and continue their journeys on Bird scooters, relieving city traffic and protecting the environment.

    At the end of the journey, the scooter must be parked in a safe place that does not interfere with pedestrians and vehicles.

    There is an initial charge for unlocking the vehicle and a fee per minute.
