    Czechs retailer Rohlik to enter the Romanian home delivery market

    Rohlik, the largest online food retailer in the Czech Republic, is preparing to launch on the Romanian market.

    The platform offers home delivery for over 8.000 food items within a maximum of 2 hours after the order was placed.

    On the Romanian market, Rohlik will operate under the Sezamo.ro brand. Currently, more than 30 positions are available in the Bucharest office.

    Available jobs are for positions such as Tax Manager, HR, Warehouse Manager, PR Manager, Social Media Specialist, Brand Manager, etc.

    Sezamo.ro operates its own warehouse of 12.000 sqm (of which 4.000 sqm of space with controlled temperature), located in CTPark Bucharest North.

    Rohlik is a brand owned by the Czech retailer Velka Pecka and is present in the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary and Austria.

    EBRD becomes shareholder in Czech online food retailer Velka Pecka

    The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is becoming a shareholder in the Czech online retailer Velka Pecka.

    Velka Pecka was established in 2014 and became the leading online grocery retailer in the Czech Republic, operating under the brand name Rohlik.

    During public health restrictions and lockdowns, online food retail has become a lifeline for many customers.

    Velka Pecka is now seeking to expand its operations in Hungary, and to enter the Romanian market and other countries where the EBRD invests.

    The company will introduce training for more than 600 young women and men in Hungary and Romania.

    Velka Pecka will also promote female talent in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and management, by targeting gender parity in these roles as well as in training.

    Czech online supermarket Rohlik enters Austrian market

    Rohlik Austrian branch, Gurkerl.at, is a new online supermarket, which entered the market from 3 December 2020, Heute reports.

    Gurkerl.at sells a 7,500 product range, from items for daily use (including diapers or hair dye products), fresh pastries, meat from Austria and vegetables.

    The company rented a 6,000 square metre warehouse in Tech Park Vienna.

    All orders will be delivered with its own fleet within three hours and in a one-hour window.

    Until 31.12.2020 you can order from a minimum order value of 39 euros. The delivery fee is free until the end of the year.
