    Skanska acquired a land plot in Boston, USA, for USD 177M

    Skanska has acquired about 2,787 square meters of land in Boston, Massachusetts for USD 177M, about SEK 1.5 billion.

    Located at 380 Stuart Street in the Back Bay neighborhood, Skanska plans to develop a 27-story, about 58,000 square meter, Class-A office building with ground-floor retail and below-ground parking.

    The project will target LEED Platinum, Fitwell, and WiredScore certifications.

    This acquisition marks Skanska’s seventh commercial venture in Greater Boston, and one of the few remaining opportunities for a new, ground-up development in Back Bay.

    Skanska signs an USD 198 M contract for office improvements in western USA

    Skanska has signed additional contracts with an existing client for improvements to their corporate office in the western USA.

    The contract is a joint venture with Skanska Balfour Beatty, and is worth USD 395 M.

    Skanska’s part is worth about USD 198 M, about SEK 1.7 billion, which will be included in the US order bookings for the fourth quarter of 2020.

    Construction is underway and is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2023.

    Skanska USA had sales of SEK 74 billion and about 7,900 employees in its operations in 2019.

    Skanska invests USD 65 M in its first Los Angeles office development project

    Skanska invests approximately USD 65 M in its first Los Angeles office development project located in Beverly Hills.

    The construction contract is worth about USD 33.3 M and will be included in the US order bookings for the fourth quarter 2020.

    Located at 9000 Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills, California, Skanska plans to develop and build a four-story, 4,270 square meter office building with roof top terrace and four below grade parking levels. The project will target LEED Platinum certification.

    Skanska expects to begin construction in the end of October 2020 and the project is scheduled to be completed in third quarter of 2022.

    Since 2009, Skanska USA Commercial Development has invested more than USD 2 billion in office and multi-family projects, and has developed office headquarters for tenants including, Waste Management Inc., Bank of America, Brooks Sports, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Tommy Bahama.

    Skanska has acquired about 11,500 square meters of land in Houston, Texas. The seller is Houston Westmont LP and the acquisition amounts to USD 27 M, about SEK 236 M.

    Located in the Montrose neighborhood of Houston, in between Midtown and River Oaks, Skanska plans to develop a mixed-use project which could consist of multi-family, retail, and office tower for the local community.

    The project will target LEED Platinum certification.
