    Wizz Air will fly from the 10th airport in Poland, Rzeszów Jasionka

    Wizz Air announced the launch of its operations at the tenth airport in Poland – Rzeszów Jasionka, starting 6 November.

    Wizz Air will offer a new service to Eindhoven from Rzeszów Jasionka, first on Mondays and Fridays and from December 20 on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

    Tickets for the new connection are available for sale. Prices start at PLN 69.

    Adam Hamryszczak, CEO of Rzeszow-Jasionka Airport, said: ”Today’s announcement is a real milestone in the history of Rzeszow-Jasionka airport. Our strategic goal is to diversify our business partnerships therefore we highly appreciate the decision of Wizz Air to start operating from our airport.     Wizz Air and Ryanair to launch new routes from UK to Romania

    Wizz Air has announced two new routes from Iași and Craiova to Birmingham in Great Britainm, starting from 23 and 24 October 2020. Tickets are available at fares starting from RON 89.

    The flights from Iași to Birmingham will commence on 23 October and be operated twice/week, on Wednesday and Sunday, while flights from Craiova to Birmingham will start on 24 October and will be available on Tuesday and Saturday.

    This is the second route from Craiova to Great Britain and the eight in the Wizz Air network from Craiova, while from Iași, the new service is the third connection to Great Britain, taking the entire network of routes from Iași to 20. 

    Ryanair to launch a new route from Oradea to London Stansted

    Ryanair announced a new London Stansted route to Oradea, with a twice weekly service commencing in December 2020, as part of Ryanair’s London Stansted Winter 2020 and Summer 2021 schedules.

    Ryanair has launched a seat sale with fares available from just £14.99, for travel until the end of January.

    Wizz Air adds one new Airbus A320 aircraft to the Riga base

    Wizz Air announced a massive expansion of its Latvian operations, adding one new Airbus A320 aircraft to the Riga base.

    This will enable the start of seven new routes from Riga to Bergen in Norway, Birmingham in United Kingdom, Billund in Denmark, Hamburg in Germany, Reykjavik in Iceland, Stockholm Skavsta in Sweden, Trondheim in Norway and one new route from Tallinn in Estonia to Bergen in Norway.

    Since 2010 the airline has carried almost 3,8 million passengers on its Riga routes. With today’s announcement the airline will have a fleet of 2 modern aircraft at its Riga base.

    The newly allocated capacity of over 260.000 seats per year will further contribute to the Latvian aviation market and to the creation of over 35 new direct jobs and over 195 indirect jobs in the region.

    Wizz Air second UK base at Doncaster Sheffield Airport

    Wizz Air announced a new base at Doncaster Sheffield Airport, which will be the second base for Wizz Air UK, the group’s UK-registered and based airline, alongside London Luton.

    The airline will allocate one Airbus A320 aircraft to the Yorkshire airport, and will launch seven new routes to add to its existing Doncaster Sheffield network of ten routes.

    Wizz Air’s first flight from Doncaster Sheffield Airport took off over 14 years ago, and since then the company has grown to be the airport’s largest carrier, with over 1 million passengers every year flying on the airline’s ultra-low central and eastern European routes.

    With the creation of a new base at Doncaster Sheffield Airport, Wizz Air will launch new connections to destinations including the Spanish cities of Alicante and Malaga, Larnaca in Cyprus, Faro in Portugal, Lublin in Poland, Kosice in Slovakia and Suceava in Romania.

    The creation of a new Wizz Air UK base will increase the annual capacity of Doncaster Sheffield Airport by 150.000 seats.

    Wizz Air will create over 36 direct jobs and over 110 indirect jobs in the Doncaster area.

    With the allocation of this aircraft, Wizz Air now has 11 aircraft permanently based in the UK, and the addition of these new routes from Doncaster Sheffield means the airline has almost 1.8 million seats on sale on its 107 routes from the UK for the remainder of 2020.

    The creation of this new base also follows on from Wizz Air’s recent announcements of new bases in Bacău, Dortmund, Lviv, Larnaca, Milan-Malpensa, Tirana, Saint Petersburg and the launch of over 200 new routes across the network since April 2020.

    Wizz Air announced a 20% discount on all flights booked on 27 July to or from Romania and Moldova through www.wizzair.com or via the Wizz mobile app.

    The travel period is unlimited so anyone can plan their travel until far in 2021 depending on route.

    With recently announced new routes to Vienna, Salzburg, Heraklion, Mykonos, Santorini, Abu Dhabi, Palma de Mallorca, Bergen, Larnaca, Cagliari, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Memmingen or Karlsruhe / Baden-Baden, travellers can choose from 162 routes from Romania to 22 countries.

    In Moldova Wizz Air announced new routes to Nice, Hamburg or Basel Mulhouse and travelers can choose from 20 routes from Chișinău to 10 countries.

    Moreover, starting from April 2020, Wizz Air announced 210 routes in its whole route network.

    With the new services, Wizz Air is bringing back Italian routes to its Ukrainian network and offering passengers travel opportunities to Rome, Milan, Venice, Naples, Verona, Catania and Bologna (Italy) from Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv, Odesa and Zaporizhzhia. 

    All travellers can already book tickets to these destinations at fares from as low as UAH 579 / EUR 19.99.

    Wizz Air started flying to Ukraine in 2008, and since then the airline has carried over 11 million passengers to and from Ukraine.

    Today’s announcement brings Italian destinations closer to Ukrainian passengers, offering in total 77 routes to 15 countries from five Ukrainian airports.

    Wizz Air established the new base in Tirana. The airline has already based the first aircraft Airbus A320 at Tirana International Airport.

    Wizz Air announced 15 new routes to eight countries from Tirana starting from July 2020, bringing the total to 25 destinations from Tirana International Airport.

    The two other aircraft are expected to arrive in two weeks’ time, the company announced.

    The 3 Airbus A320 aircraft will support the operations of fifteen new routes to:

    Wizz Air to fly eight new routes from Bucharest

    Wizz Air announces eight new routes from Bucharest to Cagliari (Sardegna/Italy), Copenhagen, Bergen (Norway), Hamburg, Karlsruhe / Baden-Baden, Memmingen (Germany), Santorini and Mykonos (Greece). 

    Passengers can already book tickets from as low as RON 119. 

    Cagliari is the 11th destination offered by Wizz Air from Bucharest to Italy and the 2nd in Sardegna besides Alghero.

    Bergen is the second destination in Norway after Oslo which Romanians will be able to enjoy with Wizz Air while Copenhagen is the second city in Denmark after Billundin Wizz Air’s network from Bucharest.

    Wizz Air now offers 61 routes to 20 countries from Bucharest

    Since 2007 the airline has carried more than 22 million passengers on its Bucharest routes.

    Together with the eight new routes announced today Wizz Air will offer over 3 million seats in the airline’s Bucharest network in 2020.

    Wizz Air has reopened its bases in Sibiu, Timișoara and Craiova and all eight Romanian locations are operational.

    Passengers can book flights on a total of 35 routes. Flights to these countries have also been resumed from the other bases and airport Wizz Air operates from in Romania.

    HEPA filters of all Wizz Air aircraft filter out 99.97% of viruses and bacteria from the air within the cabin, the crew as well as passengers are required to wear masks throughout the flight.

    Cabin crew distribute sanitizing wipes to each passenger, while the removal of onboard magazines and the encouragement of contactless payment during onboard purchases are measures introduced to minimize physical contact.

    Wizz Air announced its 31 base in Bacău. The airline will base 2 Airbus A320 aircraft at Bacău Airport in October 2020. 

    Along with the establishment of the new base, Wizz Air announced 12 new services to 6 countries from Bacău starting from 29 October 2020.

    This is the company’s 7 base in Romania and the 2nd in the historical Moldavia region in Romania, besides Iași.

    Tickets for all new routes can already be booked as low as RON 89.

    The base establishment in Bacău will create over 70 new direct jobs with the airline and even more jobs in associated industries. 

    The 2 Airbus A320 aircraft will support the operations of 12 new routes to: Turin, Venice Treviso, Bologna, Rome Fiumicino, Milan Bergamo, Catania (Italy), Larnaca (Cyprus), London Luton, Liverpool (UK), Memmingen/Munich West (Germany), Billund (Denmark), Brussels Charleroi (Belgium).

    Wizz Air’s extensive network of 37 routes to the Moldavia region in Romania- including 18 routes to Iasi and 7 routes to Suceava.

    Wizz Air announced a massive expansion of its Serbian operations, adding one new Airbus A321 aircraft to the Belgrade base as well as converting the other two based aircraft to Airbus A321 from August 2020.

    The new aircraft will join the fleet in July 2020, which will grow the local Belgrade fleet to three aircraft.

    In July 2020, Wizz Air will launch 9 new routes from Belgrade to: Hamburg, Cologne, Friedrichshafen (Germany), Brussels Charleroi (Belgium), Milan Malpensa (Italy), Lisbon (Portugal), Barcelona El Prat (Spain), Oslo Sandefjord Torp (Norway), Turku (Finland).

    Tickets for all new routes can already be booked from as low as BGN 37.99.

    First Wizz flight from Serbia departed in 2010

    Belgrade was one of the first airports in the SEE region for Wizz Air with flights to Dortmund and London.

    Wizz Air now offers 28 routes to 16 countries from 2 Serbian airports: 23 routes from Belgrade and 5 routes from Niš.

    The conversion of the entire Belgrade fleet to A321 operations would mean an annual capacity of 1,31 million seats on sale from Belgrade.

    Wizz Air announced two new routes from Bucharest to Vienna and Heraklion (Crete). Passengers can book tickets from as low as RON 89.

    Bucharest is the forth Romanian airport with Wizz Air operations to Vienna, next to Cluj-Napoca, Suceava and Constanta, announced in May.

    Bucharest – Vienna will operate on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Sunday from 15 July 2020 and prices start at RON 89.

    Bucharest – Heraklion will operate on Thursday, Sunday from 16 July 2020 and prices start at RON 139.
