    XXXLutz opens its first units in Bucharest on former Kika stores sites

    XXXLutz, the second largest furniture retailer in the world, opens two XXXL stores on February 3, in the same place of the former Kika Militari and Pallady stores, Money Buzz! reports.

    In December 2019, the Austrian group took over all Kika subsidiaries in Eastern Europe.

    The two new stores in Romania have undergone, in the last 12 months, a transformation process.

    XXXLutz brings XXXL assortments, over 20,000 products, furniture, accessories and everything needed to turn a house into a home.

    Also, on the Romanian market, new services will be available such as protection against stains caused by food or beverages, for most textile products in the XXXL portfolio.

    XXXLutz Bucharest stores are open from Monday to Saturday, between 10:00 and 21:00 and on Sunday, between 10:00 and 20:00.

    2020 is a record year in terms of investments for XXXLutz. 200 million euros were invested and more than 30 furniture stores were opened.

    In Austria, two new furniture stores will follow this autumn (Mömax in Eugendorf, Möbelix in Nenzing), in addition to redevelopments in Eugendorf (a total investment of 38 million euros), and in Lauterach (18 million euros).

    In addition, 72 million euros were invested in a new central warehouse in Zurndorf.

    In Germany, the new XXXLutz warehouse in Amt Wachsenburg went into operation in mid-September after an investment of more than 100 million euros in 2019 and 2020.

    In addition, more than 30 million euros were invested in the expansion of the various online shops in 2020.

    Two weeks ago, XXXLutz opened six new furniture stores in Hungary, after the rebranding of six former Kika stores acquired last year. These stores are in Budaörs, Györ, Pecs, Debrecen and two in Budapest.

    Marking its 75years anniversary this year, XXXLutz Group has more than 320 furniture stores in 13 European countries (Austria, Germany, Czechia, Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Sweden, Serbia and Poland) and employs more than 25.700 people.

    The opening of Möbelix Wolfsberg at the end of September and XXXLutz Wolfsberg at the end of October are getting closer.

    XxxLutz’s sales area extends over 3 floors. There will also be a large, new and modern restaurant in the new store.

    Möbelix Wolfsberg is located next to the XXXLutz building and offers furniture at an attractive price-performance ratio.

    The group has invested around 16.5 million euros in the new furniture stores at its Wolfsberg site.

    XXXLutz opens seven new furniture stores in Czechia

    XXXLutz will open seven new XXXLutz stores throughout the Czech Republic from Monday 17 August in addition to the existing three stores.

    Seven former Kika stores acquired last year were rebranded under the XXXLutz logo.

    The new XXXLutz stores are located in Cestlice, Pilsen, Ostrava, Liberec, Budweis, Olomouc, Letnany and complement the 3 existing stores in Prague Stodulky, Prague Cerny Most and Brno.

    “Our goal is to be number one in every country and location where we operate. With the acquisitions, we are further expanding this position and using synergies to offer customers even more service and even better prices,” says company spokesman Mag. Thomas Saliger.
