According to the research data analyzed and published by Comprar Acciones, there was an increase of 23.5% in the company’s revenue to $56.9 billion.
YouTube generated $6.89 billion in ad revenue during Q4 2020 alone, up by 46% year-over-year (YoY).
Youtube’s Q1 2020 ad revenue totaled $4.04 billion, up from $3.03 billion in Q1 2019, but down from Q4 2019’s $4.72 billion.
Q2 2020 saw an even bigger fall to $3.81 billion before a rebound to $5.04 billion in Q3 2020.
For the full year 2020, YouTube’s ad business revenue rose to $19.78 billion, up from $15.15 billion in 2019. It accounted for about 10% of Google’s total annual revenue, which was $181.69 billion.
The figure was about a quarter of Facebook’s total of $84.17 billion. Together, the duopoly accounted for 49% of online video ad revenue in 2020 according to Omdia.
This share is projected to increase to 51% by 2024.
Additionally, YouTube was the top non-game, subscription-based mobile app in 2020. According to Sensor Tower data, it grossed $991.7 million globally and $562 million in the US alone.
It was the top earner on the App Store, but on Google Play Store, Google One took the lead.
According to their earnings reports, Google, Facebook and Youtube generated a cumulative $63.3 billion in ad revenue in Q3 2020.
Global ad spend surged during the quarter as well, increasing by 56.4% according to Social Bakers.
Based on the research data analyzed and published by Comprar Acciones, Google’s total revenue for Q3 2020 was $46.2 billion while its ad revenue totaled $37.09 billion, up from $33.79 billion in Q3 2019.
YouTube’s ad revenue was $5.04 billion, up from $3.80 billion in Q3 2019, an increase of 32%. According to Statista, YouTube’s ad revenue went from $4.72 billion in Q4 2019 to $4.04 billion in Q1 2020. It slumped further to $3.81 billion in Q2 2020.
Facebook’s revenue for Q3 2020 was $21.5 billion, up by 22% year-over-year (YoY). From this amount, ad spend was $21.2 billion, nearly 99% of the total. It had increased from $17.4 billion in Q3 2019.
In total, the three tech giants generated $63.3 billion in ad revenue in Q3 2020.
On the other hand, for Amazon, its total revenue in Q3 2020 was $96.1 billion, up by 37% YoY. From this amount, ad revenue was $5.4 billion, up by 51% YoY.
Comparatively, ad-driven Twitter, Snap and Pinterest raked in slightly less than $2 billion.
According to a Zenith report, global ad expenditure will decline by 9% in 2020. However, in 2021, it will recover, posting a 5.8% gain thanks to the Tokyo Summer Olympics. Also, digital ads will contribute an estimated 51% to global ad spend in 2020 based on the report.
Another study made by IAB states that digital ad spend will grow by 6% in 2020 while traditional ad spend will drop by 30%. Paid search will grow the fastest, at 26%, and social media ad spend will increase by 25%. Digital video will soar by 18% and digital display by 15%.

Dr Hope’s Sick Notes comes fifth; the UK based doctor and YouTuber makes approximately $21,050 from his videos monthly. Two other brits make the top 10 list; The Doctor’s Kitchen ($2,148) and The Junior Doctor ($2,027).
Romanian Doctor Mihail is 6th on the list ($7,008), followed by Dr Levi Harrison from the USA ($3,209) and Doctor Raga from the United Arab Emirates ($2,316).

Who are the famous doctors spreading awareness online, while earning a fortune for it?
First on the list is Doctor Mikhail Varshavski, also known as Doctor Mike.
The American-Russian doctor is not only famous for his medical advice, but also for his great looks. In fact, both traits have earned him over 5 million followers on YouTube, and an estimated extra half a million dollars in his bank account monthly.
In the midst of the Covid-19 outbreak, he is urging
his viewers to be ‘alert not panicked’ and is giving the latest updates
on the virus.

The LA-born food ASMR queen Karina Garcia is the seventh highest earner.
35% of people said they would do food ASMR videos because “it pays well”.
45% of people wouldn’t admit to watching food ASMR videos because they feel “embarrassed”.
While some still struggle to see posting videos on YouTube as a „real” job, the figures are proving them wrong. It is entirely possible for people (even children) to become millionaires. This isn’t only exclusive to popular beauty and gaming YouTubers – other genres are earning large sums of money too, such as ASMR.

decided to look at food ASMR YouTube stars to see how much money eating in
front of the camera earnt them on average.
Chewsy Gum gathered
data using a tool created by Sellfy, which calculates estimated minimum
and maximum monthly revenue they earn from ads and selling their merchandise. They also
surveyed 1,208 respondents to find out how they felt about food ASMR videos.
Eating in front of the camera can make you a millionaire
Their research found that Zach Choi, from the YouTube channel Zach Choi ASMR, is the highest earning YouTuber according to his monthly figures. The South Korean, US born 33-year-old star earned over $1 million last month from his food ASMR videos.
In second place is Canadian born HunniBee ASMR, whose real name is Naomi MacRae. She earned a whopping estimated $796,721.50 from her ASMR mukbang videos.
Ssoyoung takes the third spot, earning more than $750,000 – $14,075.50 less than Hunnibee. Ssoyoung’s controversial videos show her eating live seafood, including octopus, squid and mudfish.
LA-born YouTuber Karina Garcia has eaten her way up to seventh place in the top 10 list, earning almost $200,000 in one month.
